@mrdubcrazy
so you’re saying that you have the ability to wristlock someone in a high-pressure, high-danger situation, but in a sanctioned unified rules bout you somehow can’t? that makes no sense at all. as for some bjj and mma “ethos,” there exists no such thing. mma as a professional sport has its fair share of bad attitudes, sure, but there are plenty of level-headed and well-mannered fighters as well, cf. jon jones, GSP, machida, etc. when it comes to bjj, you’re even farther from the truth
Look mate, in the ring u don’t fear for your life like you do in the street, so anything goes, however, if someone grabs you, you can apply a wristlock armlock etc to incapacitate them. If someone comes at u with a knife and you’ve nowhere to run you can’t kick and punch you have to control the knife arm…locks do that. Derrr. I don’t care about the ring, it’s just a bunch of macho twats trying to boost their ego or bank account. i’m not down with the whole BJJ or MMA ethos. Keep It!
@mrdubcrazy
as for the rules of competition stifling the toolset of a traditional japanese jiujitsu practitioner, the entire gamut of standing locks you practice is legal in mma. yet i have yet to see someone fall victim to one in a professional bout. what other traditional jujutsu moves are you complaining about not being competition legal?
@mrdubcrazy the reason it’s called brazilian jiujitsu is because kano still considered the kodokan a school of japanese jujutsu at the time maeda trained carlos. if you track the evolution of judo and bjj, you’ll find that bjj continues to practice old moves that have since been trimmed from the judo curriculum, making bjj a distinct sport in its own right. as for the contention that it is not a reliable form of street self-defense, well, that’s exactly what the gracies used it for.
@yukiism I do Trad ‘Real’ Ju Jitsu Brown Belt. The Brazilians did not invent grappling and do not have a special hold on the grappling world. They have a style, a good style that is cheapened when they claim it to be more than it is. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu techniques are neither Brazilian nor Jiu Jitsu. They are a stylized form of Japanese Judo, and they may be highly effective under the rules of a competitive format designed for it, but it is NOT a reliable form of self-defense in a street attack!
@mrdubcrazy if you think its gay you’re gay yourself theyre not fucking each other in the ass are they. it’s a sport just like you said . why does it have to be gay ? because you said so? shut the fuck up .
BJJ sucks It’s so commercial,competition oriented & aggressively marketed. Ain’t no martial art. I’d never do BJJ, it’s full of tossers, i’ve seen classes and it’s full of macho posturing homo’s looking for an excuse to rub up against each other!!
By the way the music is just as shit as the style.
By the way MMA is shit aswell. Someone’s got to tell u!
@yobrotha12 well, based on history of martial arts, Japanese JiuJitsu (aka Jujutsu) was the samuari martial art that involved striking, kicking, weapons training, grappling, chokes, arm locks, etc. Kano took his knowledge of Japanese JJ and developed Judo, which is a modified version of Japanese JiuJitsu. He took ALL of the best parts from Jujutsu and created Judo. Then Gracies took Judo and created BJJ by modifying Judo (not Japanese JJ).
@pcjudosambo well, that’s not exactly true… Japanese jiu jitsu was modified by the gracie family to be more effective in self defense and sportive competition. there really was no such thing as brazilian jiu jitsu until the gracie family modified it themselves. So in a way, BJJ was “made” by the gracies.
Why is there always someone on the internet who always has something negative to say? Most of us know how DEEP BJJ is…but this is just a highlight video, how much of BJJ’s spirit can you capture on a youtube video? The title is just fine considering the fact that if some1 types BJJ on a youtube search, this is what they will find.
@getthetapjj wow dude you’re so right! you should make a compilation you fucking faggot instead of bitching about stupid shit
now shove your head up your daddys ass queer
@steeeeker off the back, yes I’d say BJJ is king. Takedowns straight into submissions I would give to Judo & Sambo. Both are excellent in submissions but in both Judo & Sambo submissions must be done fast to relate to real life fights. I like BJJ guys but for some reason I cannot say that BJJ guys are the fastest submission artists. Judo and Sambo guys are much faster (because you’re given only a certain amount of time on the ground to mimic real life threats).
Thats Pedro Elias at 1:03 from caique jiu jitsu guys a beast
Brazilian jiu jitsu is the best I think. Nobody can win against it.

@InnocentyInsane People that don’t have an opinion themselves and criticize others’ opinions are the idiot’s.
